Derby & Derbyshire Media - your handy guide
In Derbyshire, no one media service covers the whole county, not even the Derby Telegraph, the only daily local newspaper, which serves 37,896 readers in the south, as well as westwards, down to Burton and eastwards towards Nottingham.
In the north-east, the dominant power is the Derbyshire Times, but in the north west it’s the Buxton Advertiser. Elsewhere are a host of smaller titles such as the Ilkeston Advertiser, the Belper News, the Ashbourne News Telegraph and the Matlock Mercury. The county set get a monthly fix of lifestyle news from the monthly magazines Derbyshire Life & Countryside and the Derbyshire Magazine.
Gracing the airwaves everywhere except the very north are BBC Radio Derby and Capital FM, while local stations include Amber Valley Sound, High Peak Radio, Erewash Sound and Ashbourne Radio.
Finally, the majority of Derbyshire’s viewers tune into TV news from BBC East Midlands, broadcasting out of Nottingham, and ITV Central East.
