Derbyshire couple Georgia Sellors and Ryan Wheatcroft are looking forward to hosting festive get-togethers in their brand-new Deer Park home this Christmas.
Twenty-three-year-old Georgia and her partner Ryan (25) had been together for three years before they moved into their first home; a three-bedroomed Hatfield at Ginnis New Homes’ exclusive development, near Ripley.
“We can’t wait for our very first Christmas together in our beautiful new home,” said Georgia, who works as a children’s nurse in Sutton – a 10-minute drive from Deer Park.
“We’ve been out buying lots of nice festive things – like a huge tree for the living room and decorations for the kitchen. Everything is shiny and new; I love that.
“We both enjoy a get-together. Ryan recently celebrated his birthday and we had around 13 or 14 people in our home. They were all pleasantly surprised with how much room there is in our Deer Park home. It’s deceptively spacious.
“There will be a festive gathering over Christmas, too. We’re hosting family on Boxing Day and we can’t wait to share our new home with them.”
Both lived with their parents until recently; Georgia in nearby Heage and Ryan in Belper. They started looking for their first home earlier this year and were surprised at how affordable a new home in Deer Park Lane is.
Earlier this month, the Bank of England reported the lowest first-time buyer mortgage rates in 23 years for two and three-year fixed deals, meaning it’s now easier for those wanting to get on the property ladder.
The couple purchased their home using the Help to Buy loan scheme.
“Living together is something which we had thought about for ages,” said Georgia.
“We started looking at new houses and were pleasantly surprised at how affordable the houses at Deer Park were.
“We were put in touch with Oviso, the Belper-based financial advisors who work in partnership with selling agents Boxall Brown & Jones. They came out to see us after we had both finished work, which was convenient.
“The houses at Deer Park really are something special; we love the extra-wide hallway, the doors, carpets and coving in the living room. The top-quality finish of the homes, too, is another tick in the box.”
Each Deer Park home mixes modern living with traditional features, including high ceilings, period-style windows, open-plan kitchens, downstairs WCs and built-in storage space.
The development of 30 homes is based just off Coach Road, close to the Derbyshire Police and Fire Headquarters, and promises to offer residents the very best blend of countryside and town living.
The show home at Deer Park is open 11-1pm and 2-4pm every Saturday. For further information contact selling agents Boxall, Brown & Jones on 01773 880788, Elders on 01773 304444 or visit www.ginnis-homes.co.uk
